Heart and Stroke Foundation – York University Chapter:
The Heart and Stroke Foundation at York University’s purpose is to engage York University students in raising funds and awareness for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, a health charity that leads in the goal of eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, as well as the promotion of healthy living and advocacy – see www.heartandstroke.ca.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation at York University has a goal of running 3 major fundraising events every year – with an emphasis on a Heart Month event during the month of February. The purpose of each event will be to raise awareness and to raise funds for leading research in eliminating heart and stroke diseases. Furthermore, the club will act as a liaison between the club members at York University and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario as a whole. As a liaison, the club will offer volunteer opportunities for members at larger events organized by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
